Progressive Auto Group Civic Fund

Giving back to the community has always been important to the Progressive team

Progressive Auto Group opened its doors in 1937 and it wasn’t long after when Progressive Chevrolet founder J.S. “Sandy” Sanders started the Progressive Civic Fund in the 1950s to give back to the local community that supported his business. It has continued to grow over the years and has raised more than $450,000 for the community in just the past 10 years.
The main goal of the Progressive Civic Fund is to allow Progressive employees to choose charities close to home that they are passionate about to support.

A committee made up of representatives from each department (Accounting, Body Shop, Collision Center, Parts, Sales, Service) meets annually to discuss each department’s nominations and vote on which organizations Progressive will support in the upcoming year.

Each employee donates a small percentage from each pay period and while that amount may seem small, the sum of all Progressive employees’ contributions really impacts the community. For instance, in 2019, the Progressive Civic Fund raised $46,000 to help serve the community.

Here is a look at some of the organizations the Progressive Civic Fund has supported in the past:
