John Gaddis, Service Manager at Progressive Chevrolet
When John Gaddis joined the Progressive Chevrolet team fresh out of high school, he had no idea he was about to embark on a fulfilling lifelong career.
John has been with the company for 42 years and currently serves as Service Manager, managing a team of 13 service technicians. He also coordinates with service advisors and also works with the booking office on warranties. His main responsibilities include interacting with the teams and making sure everyone communicates so we do the best work possible.
A typical day for John involves a variety of tasks. He might take a test drive with a customer to get a firsthand look at any issues with their vehicle. He assists the service technicians with investigations to help diagnose vehicle problems. He might even relay mechanical knowledge to the booking office for repair orders and warranties.
When asked about the benefits of working at Progressive Chevrolet, John says in addition to being able to provide for his family, he simply likes the people.
“Coming to work and being with people you enjoy makes a big impact,” says John.
Some of the advisors on his team have been there for more than 25 years, so they have become like a family. John credits the length of his employment at Progressive to the Sanders family, as they’ve been a fixture in the community for a long time and have built a family culture at the dealership which many employees value.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren, going to Massillon Tigers football games (his granddaughter hasn’t missed a game in two years!) and riding his three motorcycles.
